POSITION: Vice President of Franchising

POSITION ROLE:
Within the context of overall company plans and operating philosophies, this position is responsible for the orderly expansion of the O’Charley’s restaurant system and other concepts of the company (OC, Inc) as directed, through recruitment and identification of new franchisees, franchise sales, franchise market development, and compliance with the system standards.
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities are the sale of O’Charley’s multi-unit franchise development rights in selected A.D.I.’s and lesser markets, the evaluation of development potential in selected Franchise O’Charley’s markets of A.D.I.’s, the implementation of franchisee development plans through specific site review, and ensuring franchise compliance with system standards in facility design and indentifying/trade marks, development schedules and monetary obligations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Maintain and update associated documentation and legal filings (UFOC).
· Evaluates the suitability of prospective expansion opportunities.
· Research and explore the viability of franchising and joint venture opportunities, reviews applications, conducts preliminary screening interviews and evaluates candidates.
· Qualifies potential franchisees for multi-restaurant operator opportunities.
· Negotiate exclusive area contracts, including renegotiations of existing license agreements. Review and recommend legal contracts and closing documents.
· Liaison between franchisee community and company support departments; coordinates all activities to support franchise operations.
· Evaluate development potential in selected franchise markets. Secure applicant fee, physically review market for development potential, and apply company real estate planning program and models to each franchise market.
· Physically review each proposed franchise site submitted, and apply financial criteria against anticipated unit sales and profit models. Review all leases/acquisitions. Present site for approval from Real Estate Committee.
· Formulate the annual franchise system development plan. Review yearly development status to ensure franchisee’s compliance with development agreements.
· Prepare and maintain department budget.
· Manage franchise operations support staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts, which require normal safety precautions. Frequent travel required.
